Coronavirus toll crosses 1,000

As the total number of deaths due to Coronavirus crossed 1,000, the Chinese government removed two officers accountable for health services. Till now more than 43,000 people have been infected worldwide, the vast majority of them in China. Of the most recent deaths, 103 were in the province of Hubei, including 67 in the provincial capital of Wuhan. The virus is thought to have originated there in a seafood market that sold wild animals as well. Provinces of Henan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Chongqing and Shaanxi are also affected among others. In Hong Kong, 23 households were evacuated from an estate, and taken into quarantine, after cases were detected there. In India, it was a relief for Kerala when the reports of two patients came negative for the second round of Coronavirus. Meanwhile, 65 more people have tested positive on the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship moored off Japan - meaning 135 out of 3,700 passengers have caught the virus.
