Countries rush to open lockdown, despite several cases Washington The Coronavirus cases crossed more than 3.5 million even as many countries are reopening their economies. The US which till now has registered more than 12 lac cases and more than 73,000 deaths is urging its states to open the lockdown. Why so? The world has been under Covid 19 threat for more than five months now. As many countries closed workplaces and shut factories for more than two months due to lockdown, they are also looking at loss of jobs and lesser earnings. It’s because of this that many nations have decided to reopen their economies, though asking citizens to be cautious. Italy, Germany, Britain and Spain are all relaxing the lockdown gradually. Spain, which has registered more than 2,00,000 cases and 25,000 deaths is still cautious. Italy and the UK, both with more than 200,000 cases and 30,000 deaths, are asking citizens to be more careful with their health but are ready to open workplaces. Germany, which has shown good results in its fatality rate, is also cautiously lowering the guard. France, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Iran have all seen cases rise above 1,00,000. WHO says The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned countries to not rush into relaxing the lockdown as it may result in the rising of Covid 19 cases. The health organisation also warned that a surge may be witnessed in the months to come, especially in countries which got virus later than others. South Korea, Japan and Taiwan have shown tremendous improvements in lowering the positive cases.
