A festival where we can throw colours and water on our friends and loved ones! Yes please...This is the best festival ever! Celebration of life Holi is a celebration of overcoming your fears or turning of negativity to positivity in life, whether it’s mending relationships, victory of good over evil, end of winter season over arrival of spring. We are reminded to play and laugh, forget and forgive. Since everything in ancient days was naturally sourced, gulal was predominantly used to celebrate this festival. Gulal powders were prepared from flowers of Indian Coral Trees and the flame of the forest. Back in those days, gulal had medicinal properties beneficial to the skin. Significance of colours Gulal is red in colour which denotes vibrancy, strength, power and determination. Green colour denotes growth, harmony, freshness and fertility. Yellow colour portrays positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy. Blue colour represents integrity and deep sincerity. Back to the nature It is important to understand that these colours were originally made using natural resources that were easily available. Plants, flowers, tree barks, soil, vegetables.
