Rajasthan shows the way! 

We all make New Year resolutions, and most of those are for ourselves. But there are few who think for the greater good and the state of Rajasthan is one of them. With the aim to promote road safety, the Rajasthan transport department will make a start in the New Year by observing a No Vehicle Day once a month. Under the new initiative, all officers and employees of the Transport Department will reach office on cycles or by walking. The order issued by the Transport Department says that celebration of no vehicle day will start from the first day of the year. After this, the first day of each month shall be observed as ''No Vehicle Day''. According to order, "All officers and employees working in the Transport Department will come to their offices as pedestrians and cyclists or via transport service on the first working day of every month. The initiative would help to check pollution, endorse the use of public transport and check accident rates too. What a way to start the New Year, we say.
