T20 Series: India win as Deepak Chahar make history

India beat Bangladesh by 30 runs in the third and final match of T20I series in Nagpur. Bangladesh had put a target of 175 runs. Indian pacer Deepak Chahar took a sensational six-wicket haul including a hat-trick with giving away just seven runs in 3.2 overs. Chahar became the first Indian to take a hat-trick in the shortest format, shared nine wickets with Shivam Dube (3/30) to secure India's first T20 series win at home this season. Chahar became only the third bowler to pick up six wickets in an innings in men's T20Is - Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendis has achieved it twice. It was the 12th instance of a hat-trick in the format, though Lasith Malinga and Rashid Khan have recorded double hat-tricks, of four wickets in four balls. Half centuries by Shreyas Iyer (62 off 33) and K L Rahul (52 off 35) helped India clinch the series. After losing the first match to Bangladesh, captain Rohit Sharma’s team gained pace with second match and made the final more interesting. Bangladesh had blow before the series when their captain Shakib al Hasan was banned from international cricket under charges of corruption. The team was led by Mahmudullah.
