Sweety Kumari plays rugby and she’s so good at it that her peers lose confidence every time she runs with a ball. Kumari hails from a village where girls are not even allowed to wear pants, let alone run in shorts with a ball in hand. Her father works as a handyman, while Sweety’s mother is an anganwadi worker. But with sheer talent, hard work and determination, Sweety has turned the tables in her favour. Sweety was also picked as the ‘continent's fastest player’ by Asia Rugby earlier. She followed her brother into athletics, and was considered a good sprinter. But later switched to rugby and gained success at it.
