World is one big family, thanks to Covid 19

The novel Coronavirus has affected more than 2,00,000 people globally, and the number is on the rise. While the death toll has crossed 8,000-mark, we also are looking at the positive figure of people who have recovered successfully. And this has all led to one thing in general— hope. One big family Countries all around the world are coming out in support of each other. While India has sent millions of rupees of medical kits to its neighbour, there are many philanthropists who have donated for the research of the Covid 19 drug. India has also helped evacuate many nationals from the affected countries to their home nations. And she’s still doing so! Billionaires are giving money to labs to develop an anti-dote for the virus. Footballer Christiano Ronaldo has even turned all his hotels into medical units to quarantine the Covid 19 patients. Showing the way The outbreak happened in China, and at one point of time China had the most number of cases and deaths due to the virus. But it has recovered. And so have many other countries like South Korea. They are helping other nations fight the pandemic by sharing details on how they grappled with it. No movement Almost all countries have restricted movements of their citizens. The US, the UK, Canada, Germany, France and almost all of Europe and Asia have banned international travel and stopped accepting foreign nationals in their countries. This would help a great deal in preventing the virus through transmission. Medicines for use In India, the Union Health Ministry has recommended the use of a combination of Lopinavir and Ritonavir drugs on a “case-to-case basis” for high-risk patients. Beijing said an influenza drug developed by Japan’s Fujifilm Toyama Chemical is “clearly effective in treatment” of Covid-19 patients. The drug, favipiravir, sold under the brand Avigan, has been provided to Covid-19 patients in Japan since February. Drug companies in the West, too, have shown promise. US-based Gilead’s anti-Ebola drug Remdesivir is now being administered to critical patients in Washington as a “last resort”. Swiss giant Roche’s anti-inflammation drug Actemra (tocilizumab) — used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) — has received approval from China to treat critical Covid-19 patients.
