Romanticism!

Romanticism! It is such a beautiful feeling to process your thoughts and imagination and make something tangible in order to let the world know what you’re thinking. This was the fairytale era of Romanticism. Artists during this time were focused on emotions, feelings, moods of all kinds including spirituality, imagination, mystery. They painted landscapes and religion, revolution and peaceful beauty. Imagine cupids flying along with soft fluffy clouds over lush green hills and valley of flowers. All smiles and magnificent, glorious nature al in sync. People were dreaming all along and putting these paintings and sculptures out with relaxed brush strokes, softer drapes, pearly white shade of skin yet rounded bodies. Long curls of hair flying in the wind. Oh so surreal! People living during this era rejected industrialization, organized religion, rationalism and did not want to be confined socially. It’s beautiful to see the transition from the early Art Eras where people were drawing animals on rocks, later came groups of people drawing in detail and now they wanted to express their own feelings, thoughts and desires. But what happens when we are told what to do over and over again? Do we always want to abide by the rules or eventually express our innermost individualism and see what we are really capable of? Modern thinking brings different ways of expression. In the end I believe we all want the same things out of life, just in different proportions and of course, unleash our thoughts to actually fulfill our dreams in a positive way!
