And India has its 64th Grandmaster!
Delhi boy Prithu Gupta has become the 64th Chess Grandmaster from India. Just so you know, and not confuse it with grandfather, he’s just 15 years of age! He became the GM after conquering the fourth round of Portuguese League against Germany’s Lev Yankelevich.
Prithu got inclined towards chess when he was nine, and in six years has touched a feat many only dream of.
The boy also got a pat on the back from India’s first Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand who tweeted, “And we are complete. 64th GM!! Welcome our newest GM Prithu Gupta!”
And Prithu is not just good in chess, the boy has given great importance to his academics and ensured that he maintains a CGPA close to 10.
