A prodigy lost too soon! Edmund Thomas Clint (1976–1983) was an Indian child prodigy known for having drawn over 25,000 paintings during his short life of less than seven years. Yes! That's correct! Imagine painting nonstop and serving your highest purpose. He loved painting Hindu festivals and traditional events near his home in Kochi. When he died of kidney failure in 1983, he was just six years and 11 months old, yet left behind some 25,000 artworks. He was named after the veteran Hollywood actor and director Clint Eastwood by his parents. In September 2014, director Harikumar declared he was planning to make a film based on the life of Clint. The ‘prince of colours’ had a vibrant style of painting where he would use the sun and nature, draw kingdoms and birds, gods and deities. The mood of his paintings were cheerful and brought so much positivity to the world. He is still acclaimed as a child prodigy among artists who study Indian art. Even in such a short life span, we can see a child leaving an immense legacy for the world to be spellbound by it!
