Celebrate these unusual holidays from around the world We all know and celebrate religious and cultural festivals in a year but there are a few wacky holidays you can celebrate and have some fun. Read more about them… January 22 — Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day Do you have a special connection with your cat or is she around only for sustenance in your house? Whatever maybe the reason, you can spend some quality time with it on this day. You never know what you might learn about your pet and its abilities in doing so! Reminds of Kafka on the Shore, anyone? January 29 — Puzzle Day Last year was a great time for revisiting board games. As families spent a lot of time home, puzzles and board games became a go-to activity to spend time. But why restrict such good times to only 2020? Bring out your board games and puzzles out on this day and have fun. February 17 — Random Acts of Kindness Day If you have encountered a homeless person and given money, that’s a random act of kindness. The idea of this day is to get lots of people doing something kind for someone they don’t know with no expectation of getting anything in return. Actually, just being polite to everyone qualifies you as a kind person. March 27 — National Scribble Day Author Diane Alber created this day in 2019 to show kids that even a scribble can be a work of art. So take out your pencils and wake up the creative genius in you and get to work! April 9 – Name Yourself Day Go creative, and we are not talking about names you give to your local barista. You want to be called Tudor, Agamemnon, Cinderella, Yoda, Mandelorian, Spock or anything wackier… go ahead and name yourself. May 21 – Talk Like Yoda Day Star Wars fans, this is your time. Go ahead and start practising right away so you can perfect this sound on the particular day. Who cares if others may get irritated with it, we are celebrating the Yoda! June 19 – Garfield the Cat Day We love Garfield… who doesn’t? The lazy, cute, fuzzy orange cat is an epitome of time pass. Mark your calendar to make some lasagna and cuddle up with Jim Davis’s comic books featuring the sarcastic yet lovable cat on this day. June 21 — World Giraffe Day They are such calm creatures, and actually never get much credit for their beauty. These long neck animals are losing population every year, so let’s celebrate them and also help them from extinction. July 2 — I Forgot Day Here’s a day to redeem all your past sins of forgetting birthdays — right from your best friend to your grandmother’s. And in case you forget, keep the list ready. September 29 – Ask a Stupid Question Day Well, parents ‘celebrate’ this day almost everyday but now officially anyone can ask a silly question. Ans no, you won’t be judged for that.
