“How dare you?” are the teachable words from Greta Thunberg’s speech at the UN Climate Summit 2019 that echo in our minds. At just 16 years old, this female activist is fighting against Climate Change in the hopes to make this world a better place to live in. 21 September marks World Gratitude Day. Saying that, one of the best ways you can practice Gratitude is by making Mother Earth happy again. What can you do, you might wonder? Be more eco-friendly. Here are some ways: Save water by using just as much as you need and turning the water off at the right time. Remember the golden rule: Reduce, reuse and recycle. Save energy by turning off electronic equipment when they are not in use. Say NO to plastic. Say YES to growing plants – Sow one yourself! Other daily gratitude practices: Stick it on the fridge: Create a gratitude list with your family. Post it up on your refrigerator. Had a great day at school day? Enjoyed the dinner your mother cooked for you? Keep adding things to the list! Beautify complaints in to praises: The next time you are upset, interrupt your thoughts and words with something you are grateful for and see your mood change! Sprinkle “Thank you” like sugar: Grateful people are always more beautiful and happy. Using your manners; say the magical words “Thank you” every time you appreciate something. Stock up your old stationary, clothes or toys and hand it over to someone who isn’t as fortunate. While you do this, count your blessings.
