Girl is hoisted in air during kite flying event
Kite-flying is one of the favourite sports and hobbies all over the world. While most Indians mandatorily fly kites on Makar Sankranti, there are other countries too which hold many kite flying festivals. But this fun event turned into a nightmare for one toddler and her family.
A three-year-old girl was hoisted more than 30 metres into the air at an annual kite festival in Taiwan. She got caught in the strings of one of the kites—swinging violently through the sky for almost 30 seconds.
The 2020 International Kite Festival was taking place in Nanliao near the sea when the toddler was caught up in the huge, long-tailed kite which was being blown up by strong winds. She became entangled in its strings, which lifted her above the crowd below.
As the kite was launched through the air, the little girl was hanging from the end, wrapped tightly in its brightly coloured embrace. The kite was brought down and as soon as the girl reached the arms’ length, people brought her to the ground.
Fortunately, she didn’t suffer any grave injuries.
