Mahatma Gandhi to go digital 

The times are changing, and so should the people. Mahatma Gandhi is respected all over the world for his ideals and views, but to make him more popular, the government of Maharashtra has decided to make him digital. Mani Bhavan, Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Gamdevi, has received a grant of Rs10 crore from the state government. The museum would be turned into a world class memorial. The library of almost 40,000 books would be computerised and a few rare books would be kept in digital format. There would be Braille for and also for the visually impaired. The museum would also offer guided audio tours, information on touchscreens, gift shop, etc. Mahatma Gandhi’s few belongings would be on display. The museum is expected to get this uplift in a year’s time. Did you know Gandhi shifted to Sabarmati Ashram along the Sabarmati River in Gujarat after coming to India. He experimented in the fields of farming, animal husbandry, cow breeding, and other Khadi related activities at this place. Later this ashram became the epicenter of all the activities related to the Indian Freedom Struggle.
