We have been learning about different forms and styles of paintings that have evolved over years in various regions of India. Let us deviate a little and see what ‘young ones’ around the world are up to. What I mean is, boys and girls who are not even in middle school yet, are making fabulous art that seem like it has been made by much older living legends. Meet Mikhail Akar from Germany. He is 7 years old and already understood that he loves to paint in his free time. Sometimes maybe once a week or sometimes once a month. He wears his daddy’s boxing gloves and paints in an abstract style on canvas. Many galleries from around Europe have approached him to curate and sell his art work although his parents say that Mikhail’s paintings will not be exploited to be sold as a commercial artist. He is dubbed as ‘preschool Picasso’ by the Art industry. Mikhail wants to become a soccer player when he grows up. He collaborated with soccer star Manuel Neuer on a piece that sold for over $12,000. And he boasts more than 46,000 Instagram followers. Mikail’s next exhibition is in Cologne, followed by a show in Paris. It's so beautiful to see a young child with fresh ideas and colors in our world. I'm sure there are many geniuses in India as well who would like to paint and spread cheer!
