Art column: Taruna Singh is an artist in love with nature Art world Kinjal Trivedi Taruna Singh, and artist with a love for nature Taruna is a happy soul who loves to share the creativity with as many people she comes across. I love her enthusiasm and encouragement towards her fellow people. Taruna comes from an agricultural background and since childhood she was always surrounded by passionate people who taught her to appreciate nature, wildlife; the simple pleasures of life. She studied in one of the most beautiful boarding schools in the world - The Lawrence School Sanawar, Simla Hills, HP. Growing up on that beautiful, picturesque hilltop made her love for nature grow stronger. Let’s hear in her own words about her world and what steps she took to create her place in today's world where ‘winning’ is everything. Taruna’s Current profession – I have been a full time, independent artist since 2015. I work on specially commissioned projects to create custom wall murals and wall art for luxury homes, hotels, cafes, retail brands and corporate spaces. I also specialize in ink portraits of birds and animals. Before I turned a full time artist, I had a successful career in Public Relations from 2000-2015. During the first 10 years, I worked with leading agencies like Enterprise Nexus, Rediffusion DY&R and Group M, followed by corporate brands like STIC Travel Group and Max NewYork Life Insurance. I then went on to work as an independent PR & Social Media Consultant for leading brands. Taruna’s style of art – My style of art is a reflection of my personality. It is vibrant and bold, happy and restful; makes the viewers smile. I believe my style of art is always evolving based on my life and people experiences, the nature of projects I pick up and the clients I work with. Taruna’s inspiration – Besides being self-inspired, it is in my nature to seek beauty in everything I see and everyone I meet. My passion to create is intense, which is why learning new art techniques every year and using them in future projects is essential to my growth process as an artist. Importance of Taruna’s style of art – My brand as an artist is aptly named Art Joy by Taruna Singh. With each piece I create, I strive to bring a smile to my clients/audience. My artwork exudes feelings of joy, vibrance, calm, serenity, and a vintage elegance that provides a wonderful break from everyday life. See some of Taruna’s clean work. The command of her hand and brush strokes on huge walls as well as smaller detailed work is commendable.
