Credit Card Compare, an Australian website, curated a series of maps which show literal meaning of countries around the world. For example, France takes its name from a coalition of Germanic tribes, the Franks and Norway simply means ‘The Way North’, or ‘The Northern Way’, making reference to an old Viking route.
