This scooter would fit in your backpack! Tokyo We all know how useful backpacks are. We could carry anything in them — books, blankets, clothes, shoes, food, scooter… yes, you can also carry a scooter in your backpack! Compact enough to fit inside a backpack and capable of inflating with an electric pump in under a minute, the scooter is called Poimo, which is short for Portable and Inflatable Mobility. Unlike most other e-scooters, the Poimo is designed to be sat instead of stood on, and has four wheels instead of two, promising increased stability and making for a safer ride. The Poimo, developed by the University of Tokyo, can be inflated in just over a minute, using an electric pump. The creators said they wanted to create a vehicle that minimised the potential for injury in the event of an accident. And though e-scooter rules still need to be clarified, the news has already created a lot of buzz. https://youtu.be/0F-B-xAxwog The Poimo has five solid, detachable components: two sets of wheels, an electric motor, a battery, handlebars with a built-in wireless controller. It is made primarily out of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which is already used to make products such as airbeds. As well as making for a comfortable place to sit, the inflatable plastic body should be safer for pedestrians too, in the event of a collision.
