10 million infections worldwide, and still counting Mumbai The world is trying to come to terms with the ongoing pandemic. While economies worldwide are opening up, the number of infections too are rising. The USA is still leading with the number of positive cases followed by Brazil, Russia and India. The number of cases has crossed 10 million globally with more than 5,00,000 reported deaths. Though countries like Greece and Thailand have reopened for tourism, it’s still not clear if people are ready to travel internationally. Right now, more stress is given on generation of employment and development of industries. The pandemic affected millions of jobs as many industries had to shut plants worldwide. India has relaxed lockdown rules but many states are still treading cautiously. Maharashtra has extended lockdown till July 31 while schools and colleges too won’t reopen soon. The boards like ICSE and CBSE have cancelled the remaining exams.
