5 ways to get creative with kids
It’s difficult to make time pass when there’s so much of it. And especially with kids, it’s a tussle how to make them learn while they play. Here are a few ideas on how to creatively engage your children…
Make a favourite rock
Children love collecting rocks — of all sizes. Let your child choose his or her favourite rock and let them paint or just draw a design on it. And while they paint it, ask them to imagine a story revolving that rock. It can be their lucky rock too. You can always turn to it when you want to support your kid emotionally.
Create a mosaic
Mosaics are beautiful pictures made from colourful tiles of different shapes and sizes. Creating mosaics is a calming activity. It not only brings out the creativity of a child but also let’s the parent know what the kid is thinking. There are a lot of signals coming from a child’s creation. And if you put up their mosaics on the wall, it definitely would boost your children’s confidence.
Children nowadays are more aware of their surroundings. They understand nature and animals much better than we adults do. Let them make a journal of nature around them. They can jot down the birds they sight or even the strange sounds an animal makes at different times of the day. If you have a pet, let your child make a diary on your pet’s daily routine. This would not only make them more aware but also help them be a disciplined person.
Record a message
Let your child fiddle with that video button on your camera phone. Instead of asking them to talk on the phone, you can always request them to make an audio or a video message which is both meaningful and funny. This would boost their confidence and also help them express themselves much better.
Bake or just cook gas less
Cooking is calming. We all know that. And if it can do wonders on adults, it can soothe even the children. Let your kids help you while you cook or bake. This will make them understand the value of teamwork and participation. The end product would also help them be proud of themselves. You can also let them make sandwiches or burgers which does not require standing near a stove.
