Afghanistan: Would the US leave with two presidents and active Taliban? 

Afghanistan has been a troubled nation, for years now. After Osama bin Laden-backed Al Qaeda attacked the US on September 11, 2001, the American troops uprooted the notorious Taliban. Taliban defeated, democracy back A democratic elected government came into being with Hamid Karzai as its president. But all was not well. Though the Taliban fighters lost their ground in Afghanistan, they took refuge in neighbouring Pakistan and continued to attack the US and Afghan forces. US losses The US has lost more than 2,400 men and spend more than$1 trillion (approximately Rs 7,38,22,00,00,00,000) on this war against terrorism. And that’s not all. The war has been going on for 18 years now, and people are getting restless. Bring back our men Former president Barack Obama tried to bring back the troops but failed. The present president Donald Trump too made the same promise, and now is working on it. He has signed a deal with the Taliban asking them not to get involved in terrorism activities against the American people. In return, the US troops would go back home. The catch The Taliban are not so honest and trustworthy people. They have been involved in terrorism and warfare even when they’re routed out of the country. They do not accept the elected government of Afghanistan. They also continue to violate human rights. According to them, women have no right to education and freedom. They want people to follow strict sharia laws. The government The afghan government too is on a shaky ground. Two presidential contenders stood for Elections and both claimed victory. Both have taken oath as a president! And in between all this, Trump wants to pack his bags and leave the country.
