Covid 19 cases cross 3 million, US worst-hit New York Even as many pharmaceutical companies around the world are trying to develop a vaccine for Coronavirus, the global figure of people who have tested positive has crossed 3 million already, with more than 2,00,000 reported deaths. The United States is the worst-hit nation where the positive cases are above 1 million with around 60,000 reported deaths. President Donald Trump still urged the state governors to uplift lockdown as the economy suffers and unemployment surges. Spain witnessed more than 2,00000 cases with more than 24,000 deaths. Italy too hasn’t been able to put a stop to the spread though the figures are not as daunting as earlier. Italy’s positive cases too are more than 2,00,000 though lesser than Spain but deaths are above 27,000. France, Germany and the United Kingdom have all crossed the 1,50,000 positive cases mark, but Germany still has one of the lowest death rates. Turkey, Russia, Iran and Brazil too are showing upsetting trends with cases rising continuously. Many countries are thinking of lifting the lockdown but the threat still looms large.
