Covid 19: He scorned it, now he has it Washington After months of undermining the effects and dangers related to Coronavirus, the US president Donald Trump declared that he was diagnosed with the infection last week. However, despite being still under treatment, he returned to White House and started working as usual. The US First Lady Melania Trump too has been diagnosed with the virus. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that at least 10% of the world population must have got infected with the virus. Though some countries which have seen a spike in cases earlier are registering a decline in numbers, there are countries which are showing second wave and even return of the infection in many many individuals. The UK has again advised its citizens to stay put at home. The Boris Johnson government has taken the decision to reopen the schools in September, with which many parents are not happy. The US continues to register the highest number of cases in the world with more than 7.5 million cases. The American nation has already surpassed death numbers of 2,00,000. Brazil has reported more than 5 million virus infections while Russia’s tally too is rising with more than 1.5 million cases. India has registered more than 6.8 million cases with more than 1,00,000 deaths, and is yeh second-most affected country globally. Maharashtra continues to report the maximum number of cases. Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh follow close on heels. The Indian government has recently declined to test Russian vaccine Sputnik in large numbers on Indians. However, there’s no breakthrough in the vaccination till now.
