Covid 19: Lockdown extended till May 3, India sees cases rising Mumbai The Narendra Modi government extended the lockdown till May 3, even as the positive Coronavirus cases crossed 12,000 in the country. More than 400 deaths were reported while the number of recovered patients stays strong at around 1,500. When it comes to states, Maharashtra is leading the tally with more than 3,000 cases and 180 deaths. Maharashtra was one of the states to declare the extension of the lockdown much before the PM announced it. As the state sees rise in cases, Mumbai stays on high alert. Delhi has also rested more than 1,400 cases while Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan cases continue to spike. Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have relatively reported lesser number of cases as these states too were on high alert. The Union health ministry has identified 170 districts as Covid-19 hotspots and 207 districts as potential hotspots. But also said that 325 districts have no reported cases.
