Covid 19: US is the worst-hit nation
Even as the world scrambles to find a cure to Coronavirus, more than 1.5 million confirmed cases have been reported from around the world, in 184 countries. The death toll has crossed 88,000 and counting.
More than half of all the confirmed cases have been in Europe, with Spain and Italy worst affected. However, the United States now has more than twice as many confirmed cases as any other single country.
New York continues to reel under the pressure. With more than 430,000 confirmed cases, the USA has more than five times the official number recorded in China.
Wuhan in China, where the pandemic started, on the other hand has reopened for business and back to normal.
Spain overtook Italy with positive cases crossing 1,50,000 mark. Spain also reported more than 14,800 deaths. Italy has reported almost 1,40,000 positive cases with more than 17,000 deaths.
France too has been affected with more than 1,12,000 positive cases and more than 10,000 deaths. Germany though reported more than 1,10,000 cases, it’s been able to control its mortality rate as the number deaths have been around 2,000 as compared to other European nations.
The United Kingdom too is struggling to cope with the virus. After Prince Charles from Britain’s royal family confirmed positive and recovered, British PM Boris Johnson has been admitted in the hospital after he contracted the virus.
