Covid cases rise as India eases lockdown Mumbai India saw a spike in Coronavirus cases even as the country eased on lockdown. While most of the cities are trying to get back to business, the cases too have risen. Tamil Nadu government announced lockdown of Chennai again after cases surged. Maharashtra witnessed more than 100,000 cases while Mumbai still leads the state tally. Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh also witnessed rise in numbers. The global cases of Covid 19 have crossed 8 million, with the USA witnessing the most number of infections and deaths. Brazil, Russia and India follow the USA. While last week, New Zealand claimed to be Coronavirus-free, the down under country witnessed two fresh cases when two British women went unchecked after they landed in the country. The world is also witnessing a second wave of Coronavirus infections with China reporting new cases in Wuhan, the place where the virus originated.
