Covid vaccine: Indian company gets nod for human testing Hyderabad While many pharmaceutical firms around the globe are trying to find a vaccine for Coronavirus, a few have started testing the drug on humans. One of them to get an approval is India’s Bharat Biotech. Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for human trials, making it India's first domestic candidate to get the green light from the government's drug regulator as cases surge in a country with more than 1.3 billion people. Human clinical trials are scheduled to start across the country in July for the vaccine, which was developed and manufactured in Bharat Biotech's facility at Genome Valley in Hyderabad. The drug, Covaxin, was developed along with the Indian Council of Medical Research's National Institute of Virology. If the company is able to develop a Covid 19 vaccine, it would save a lot of lives and money too. Now we just need to keep our fingers crossed.
