Howdy Modi echoes in Texas

Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump shared the stage at the 'Howdy, Modi' event in Houston on Sunday, 22 September. The two leaders addressed the Indians at the NRG Stadium in the presence of about 50,000 audience. It was a great show of strength for India in the US with President Trump on the side. The Indian Prime Minister hit out at Pakistan for its support to terrorism. He also said that India's decision to nullify Article 370 has caused trouble to those who cannot handle their own country. Both the leaders called for a decisive battle against terrorism. Making a strong pitch against terrorism at the 'Howdy, Modi' event in the presence of US President, who joined the mega event in a rare gesture of friendship, Modi asked crowd to give Trump a standing ovation, as he targeted Pakistan and its Prime Minister Imran Khan, without directly naming them. There was talk of a possible Indo-US bilateral trade deal, Trump's first state visit to India (possibly this year) and both leaders also announced a zero-tolerance policy for cross-border terrorism, especially that emanating from Pakistan. PM Modi inaugurated the Gandhi Museum in Houston and later, departed for New York to attend the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.
