This Dark Knight rises for the hungry!
Santiago
Gotham may not be in Chile, but a Knight in a shiny black suit and pointy ears (and a face mask!) roams about the city of Santiago helping the poor and hungry. He may not be the mythical Batman but he surely is a much better one when it comes to helping real people.
This stranger delivers a few dozen plates of hot food to homeless people throughout the South American capital on a regular basis. “Look around you, see if you can dedicate a little time, a little food, a little shelter, a word sometimes of encouragement to those who need it," said the man, who prefers to remain anonymous.
Restrictions aimed at stemming the spread of coronavirus have devastated Chile’s economy. Unemployment has skyrocketed to over 12% in Chile, breaking a decade-long record, and much of the capital Santiago continues to operate at half-mast.
But this ‘Solidarity Batman’ has come forward to do whatever he can. He chose the Batman outfit to cheer people up, and it fosters a feeling of togetherness.
