Vaccine hopes rise as Covid cases shoot across the world New Delhi Strict lockdown was clamped on West Bengal and northeastern state of Meghalaya even as India continues to show a rise in the number of coronavirus cases. The country’s tally has already crossed 12 lac. Maharashtra still has the highest number of cases while Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Delhi too are not far behind. Some states like Uttar Pradesh continued the relaxed lockdown while other states reinforced stricter rules. Worldwide, the US leads the count while Brazil is just ahead of India. While the fear of the second wave is still there, a hope too has appeared. The Oxford-based lab has entered into the second batch of human trials as its first trial came successfully. If the trial succeeds, then the vaccine could be given to a large number of people. However, it’s a bit early, we all hope the lab succeeds.
