Art column: Serena Williams and her love for art Art World Kinjal Trivedi Williams sisters not just play it right but also have a keen eye for art Serena Williams is considered as one of the best tennis players in the world and has shown us that with her dedication and focus, we can cultivate our strength to channel it in the right direction. Other than being an iconic sportswoman, Williams also has a fascination for collecting Art. In her palatial Miami home, she has built a professional Grade Art Museum with the help of her sister Venus, who runs a design firm called V-Star. Miami is one of the most prestigious places in the world that has an Art District for artists as well as high end art collectors. The Art Basel takes place here every year and also the Wynwood district is famous for its dynamic graffiti art culture. Most of the well known industrialists and celebrities have a second home in Miami therefore it is natural for the collectors to have prestigious art collections in their homes. Each piece of art is anywhere from 1 million USD to you name the price! Other than the well known names of artists that we hear in circulation, there are many upcoming artists who have created their benchmark in pop art, postmodern art, contemporary art and abstract expressionism. The vibe of Miami is all about freshness, luxury, rich heritage and everything bling. Venus has works of art by Lenoardo Drew, Radcliffe Bailey, David Kracov. A Kaws X Campana Brothers Chair covered in red plush Elmo toys. Williams says this is her favourite part of the house. It's so unique and has never seen anything like it! Williams has also made a striking red painting that hangs in her living room. Hard to miss!
