BJP back in Maharashtra, Haryana sees tussle

The results for the Vidhan Sabha, or State Assembly, elections in Maharashtra and Haryana are out. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ally Shiv Sena would hold the power for the second time in a row as they have gained a clear majority. In 288 seats, BJP and Shiv Sena won 162 while opposition Congress and NCP jointly won 104. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is supposed to hold the term for second time. In Haryana, the situation is still not clear about who will form the government as no party has got majority in 90 seats Assembly. BJP has won 40 seats while Congress has won 31. The party who wants to come in power will have to take the support of other smaller parties.
